On Monday, the unmistakable sound of the ice-cream truck filed into the street.
You know, the recurring jingle that gets stuck in your head and takes you back to a childhood hurriedly scampering for loose change to beat the drive-by service.
It was strange to hear. In more than a decade living here – I’d never heard it before in our neighbourhood.
The residents piled out. Customers aplenty.
The owner said he normally just does events. In these strange times he’s had to hit the streets. Do it old school.
He said he hasn’t been down our crescent in 20 years.
He’s now been back like clockwork five days in a row. Business is booming.
While most have had to rein in their operation, the soft-serve truck is broadening its horizons!
